Grapefruit is a low-calorie food. It serves the following nutritional needs:
  • An excellent source of vitamin C and lycopene.

  • A good source of inositol and pectin fiber.

  • Also contains furanocoumarins, which slow down the liver's ability to metabolize some drugs.

The general information provided is for any variety of white or pink raw grapefruit. One serving of grapefruit or one half of a medium grapefruit (128 grams) contains the nutritional components given in the chart.
