Dan Hoskins

President and Chief Executive Officer

Widely regarded as a category professional as well as a start-up and growth expert, Hoskins brings to Sundia more than 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Hoskins was previously with Odwalla, Inc., where he led the sales and distribution organization that turned the regional brand into a preeminent, nationwide fresh juice brand and natural foods leader. In 1996, when tainted apple juice resulted in a massive product recall, his stellar crisis management skills enabled the company to regain profitability within three quarters and garnered him recognition among industry leaders and business schools throughout the country.

Hoskins food and beverage career began at the Pepsi Cola Company. Between Odwalla and Sundia, he spent a stint at Hello Direct, Inc. where he honed his skills in leading organizations through change, redefining roles and responsibilities, and establishing effective and efficient processes.

Hoskins holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The University of California, Berkeley, where he was also a member of the Men’s Varsity Swim and Crew teams. He is also a graduate of several prestigious executive development programs, including Cornell University, Johnson School of Management Executive Development Program, Pepsi Cola Executive Management Institute and the Dale Carnegie Sales and Leadership Training Program.

Brandt Lincoln

Chief Financial Officer

Brandt oversees finance and accounting for Sundia. Previously, he was the CFO of several consumer companies. The first was a privately-held fashion design firm for retailers such as Target and WalMart followed by a venture-backed photo company that produced photo gifts and prints for major retailers and online affiliates. More recently, he was the CFO of a San Francisco winery where the customer was the winemaker. Brandt began his career in investment banking, focusing on M&A, leveraged buyouts and public equity offerings. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and can often be spotted mountain biking, skiing, or trail running in the High Sierra when not
analyzing numbers.

Anne Thys

Vice President of Operations

Anne manages Sundia’s international and domestic logistics as well as Sundia’s Customer Service team. Anne’s background is in manufacturing and operations and she has worked for companies ranging from the textile and furniture industries to those serving the computer, aerospace, and nuclear industries. Anne attended the University of California, Berkeley; the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Graduate Business, Charlottesville, and is an avid skier.

Mark Sherburne

Vice President of Sales

Mark has extensive food industry experience with several US food companies including Nestle USA, Ocean Spray, POM Wonderful, Vitasoy and Ken’s Foods on regional, national and international basis. He has held senior level positions for Fortune 50 companies as well as start-up/entrepreneurial ventures which brings just the mix of experience that Sundia needs to build on its strong sales growth momentum.

During his 12 years at Nestle USA, he was the Team Leader for New England as well as managing Publix, Super Valu, Office Supply and the Club Store channel. Mark served as the National Director of Private Label, Export, DSD and Club Stores at Ken’s Foods for four years. He also spent several years at POM Wonderful initially as their Eastern Sales Director before becoming Director of Sales-North America. At POM, Mark had extensive involvement in produce, logistics, co-packing and distribution. Mark also served as General Manager of Ocean Spray’s Fresh Produce initiative and as Director of Sales-Marketing-Logistics at The Currant Company. Most recently, Mark was the Director of North American Sales for Vitasoy.

He attended Providence College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Finance and was a Varsity member of the NCAA Division I Hockey team. He also completed his MBA at Rivier College.

Kathleen Gilbert

Vice President of Food Safety, Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs

Kathleen has over 25 years of experience within the food industry. She has worked for Fortune 500 companies as well as being the founder and president of FSS Corporation, a food safety consulting business. Kathleen has designed and conducted an accredited HACCP training program through the International HACCP Alliance. She also has been a certified auditor and consultant for several of the GFSI auditing schemes as well as YUM! Brands, Costco, Quizno’s and McDonalds. Kathleen is qualified as a Six Sigma Champion and holds a certification as a Certified Quality Auditor thru ASQ.

Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Business from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is certified in thermal processing, including; aseptic packaging, acid foods, acidified foods and low acid canned foods. Her breadth of expertise also includes: GAP (Good Ag Practices), frozen and thermal process packaging, milling and dry packaging, fruit and vegetable processing, and juice processing. Kathleen resides in Wisconsin with her family where she enjoys her horses and life in the country.

Gil Mendez

Vice President of Global Manufacturing

Gil has played a significant role in establishing and managing Sundia’s domestic and International manufacturing and sourcing relationships.

With over 22 years of experience within the consumer food products industry, Gil brings valuable experience, industry knowledge and leadership to Sundia’s manufacturing organization. Previously, Gil was with widely respected national distributor of organic produce, Albert’s Organics Inc., a sister company to United Natural Foods. At Albert’s Organics, Gil led operations and distribution for both West and East Coast facilities and was responsible for improving communication infrastructure and business processes through high-impact solutions and effective cross-cultural synergies across a diverse management team and workforce.

Gil graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in business and can be seen mountain biking, hiking and running throughout the hills, valleys and beaches of Southern California.

Bradford S. Oberwager

Founder and Chairman

Brad Oberwager has been leading consumer products companies since 1997.

Prior to founding Sundia Corporation in 2004, Oberwager served as CEO of OpenWebs, a SoftBank Company, until the company was sold to CarParts Technologies. Oberwager came to OpenWebs through SoftBank Venture Capital where he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence assisting in the formation of start-ups while also building on his knowledge in “start-up” how-to’s.

Previously, he served as chief operating officer of more.com, a company he founded and which brought pharmacies and drugstores online until its acquisition. Before that, Oberwager was CEO and founder of Acumins, a patent recipient for new manufacturing and marketing techniques in the nutritional supplement field; Acumins was bought by Drugstore.com.

Brad holds an MBA in Strategic & Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School and a degree in finance from Georgetown University.
